               Myra is an ancient town in Lykia . Myra is a city carved into the rocks facing the sea. İt maybe the most beautiful example of its kind in Anatolia. İt's understood from widely spread ruins, graves and Lykian scripts that the city dates back to the fifth century B.C.

Saint Nicholas
           İn seventeen A.D. Emporer Germanicus 
visited Myra with his wife Agrippina. St. Paul also visited Myra in sixty A.D. The second century A.D. is the period when Myra was bestowed the honor of being  a metropolis and a great development took place.
 Saint Nicholas of Myra was the bishop of Myra in the fourth century. The city, under the Byzantine rule in fourth and fifth centuries was an important religious and administrative center.
